Her parents said no—and she almost gave up
I thought I’d lose her to family pressure. But during the process with Pandit Ji, what felt impossible slowly turned into acceptance.

Arjun Mehra
I loved her for three years, but when it came time to talk about marriage, her parents refused. They said I wasn’t from the right background, and every time she tried to convince them, it ended in shouting and tears. She grew tired, and one night she told me, “Maybe we should stop trying.” I felt helpless—how do you fight when the wall isn’t your partner, but her whole family?
That’s when a friend mentioned Pt. Dayaram Joshi. At first, I didn’t believe anyone could help. But when I spoke to him, something about his calm voice made me stay. He said, “If love is true, it doesn’t have to win by force. Let it win with grace.”
He began a 7–11 day Yagya for us and guided me on how to hold myself during this time: no desperate messages to her parents, no fighting back, just patience and steady support for her. He himself spoke to her father—respectfully, not to argue but to understand. That step alone surprised her family; no one had ever approached them that way.
During the process, the energy shifted. Her parents stopped shouting, and slowly, questions replaced anger. By the end, the harsh “never” turned into “we will think.” And within weeks, “we will think” became “we give our blessings.”
I still remember the day she called, crying, “They finally said yes.” For the first time in months, my chest felt light.
Dayaram ji told me, “Love doesn’t break because of walls; it breaks when patience runs out.” He helped us hold on long enough for the walls to open.
